My $500 Ticket to Techie Coolness |
By press reports, Apple's iPhone is all the rage. Lines of people were outside of stores waiting to purchase the expensive smartphones -- $500 for the 4 GB model -- when they were introduced in late June. Of course, such purchases meant also signing a two-year AT&T contract -- $1,700 estimated. First they had to sign up for Apple's iTunes download service, whether they wanted to download music or not. So now I wish I had an iPhone. After all, I want to be part of the "in" techie crowd, and what better way to say so than with Apple's newest toy?
