Keep the FireWire Burning |
FireWire, or the 1394 protocol, is my preferred method for connecting audio and video devices to a PC. I like its sustained transfer rates, its speed, and its reliability, and if there?s a choice, I?ll even opt for FireWire 400 over USB 2.0. But sometimes a 1394 device will just not work with your audio device or computer – or its stops working completely. The cause could be a faulty FireWire cable or a port that?s gone bad.
