German computer book publishers Addison-Wesley make bestselling Joomla! 1.0 book available for free download Munich-based computer book publishers Addison-Wesley have decided to make their author Hagen Graf's bestselling book on Joomla! 1.0 avalaible for free download. The PDF is fully functional, i.e. printable. While Joomla! is steadily moving towards the 1.5 release, version 1.0 is still famous with many users and - until 1.5 publishes - the only recommended choice for new installations. It was the book's author Hagen Graf himself who suggested to offer the content for free download. His editor Boris Karnikowski, responsible of Addison-Wesley's open source book program, did not need to be convinced. The big success of Hagen Graf's book on version 1.0 allows us to publish up to date editions like the one on 1.5 we are currently selling , he says. But because the computer book market is very much driven by version numbers cues, version 1.0 content now may seem obsolete to many book sellers - while it certainly is not. By making the book freely available for download we make sure that Joomla! users have access to this content and take advantage of it as long as they stick with Joomla! 1.0.
