Zune No Challenge to iPod -- for Now

Just in time for the Christmas shopping season, the iPod has some new competition. It's called the Zune and it's a brand-new US$250 digital media player from Microsoft that offers many of the bells and whistles the iPod does, along with some extras like an FM radio receiver and the ability to wirelessly swap songs from one Zune to another. In fact, near as I can tell, there's only one thing about the Zune that would keep it off many a shopping list this holiday season: It's no iPod.
