iPod Distraction: A Growing Road Hazard |
You're driving along on a busy street when someone strays into your lane. You honk but get no reaction. Then, you see why. Instead of a cell phone to the wayward driver's ear, you see white strings dangling -- the telltale sign of an iPod listener. While cell phones are widely known distractions, the use of iPods or other devices while driving is an emerging concern among auto insurance professionals and safety officials. "I see more of it all the time," said Fred Zwonechek, Nebraska's highway safety administrator.
