Unlimited Storage: What To Look For On Your Next Spec List |
It's fair to say that Google started the process of offering tons of online storage for minimal cost. This started with Google email. Then Yahoo and Hotmail started offering gigabytes of storage as well.
Web hosting, similar to email, requires continuous online storage. As your business grows and as your web site develops you'll need more and more space. In a relatively new move, competing on price, Yahoo is offering unlimited storage to small business customers for $12 a month.
Computer World writes Guy Yalif, director of web hosting Yahoo said the company has enough capacity to handle the increasing requirements, though he declined to provide details. Yalif said the service is not designed to be a "hard drive" in the sky but rather a mechanism to help the small business users quickly get in line with growing online demands. He said Yahoo will monitor the service to prevent any illegal activities.
